Classes teach gentle techniques and modifications of the asana poses, and may be adapted specifically for seniors and to skill level. They begin with energization and warm up exercises, followed by classic asana poses (6-8 different poses per class drawn from 39 Raja poses total), and finish with a deep relaxation exercise. Breathing technique and coaching on proper alignments is taught. Each asana pose has a unique accompanying affirmation to focus the mind to channel energy within the body. Soft, meditative music may also be played during asana poses. Deep relaxation is aided by Himalayan singing bowls which produce complex harmonic vibrations to induce a meditative state.
